Process Engineer, Mechanical Measurement
Your role
The role is work as the owner of the precision measurement, responsible for measurement recipe development and optimization, measurement equipment lifetime management, MSA and correlation studies, new measurement equipment study and introduction. This role requires cross-functional collaboration to support requirments from both new projects and mass production
The primary objective is to maintain measurement system capability at a level that meets products and customer requirements, and to translate metrology data into substantive support for improving assembly accuracy and yield through SPC/OCAP and measurement optimization.
Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to fulfill department objectives.
Responsibilities
Independently perform precision measurement of true position, flatness, and parallelism and other requested measurement.
Continue optimize the recipes for shorter cycle time and higher accuracy.
Analyze capacity of measurement equipment.
Establish and maintain the measurement recipes in with version control mechanisms.
Participate in technical review for new project/new fixture from mesurement perspective.
Independently develop recipe based on drawings with proper measurement strategies for new programs.
Output report with complete and traceable data for internal review, customer validation and audit purpose.
Complete related documents and operator training.
Serve as the technical owner of measurement equipment in full lifecycle.
Monitor environmental conditions to ensure precision measurement conditions meet specifications.
Handle equipment abnormalities and failures, coordinates internal and external repair resources.
Analyze root cause of recurring failures to minimize unplanned downtime.
Lead the measurement equipment selection evaluation, installation, validation and release.
Complete related documents and operator training.
Plan and execute GR&R, bias, linearity and stability study and lead root causeanalysis and corrective action for unacceptable systems.
Lead correlation studies among multiple equipment, establish inter-equipment bias models and correction strategies.
Consolidate correlation study results into measurement work instructions to provide technical basis for capacity allocation and equipment substitution.
Use SPC to monitor measurement data trends of key geometric items, identify process variation, trigger OCAP and drive corrective actions.
Distinguish measurement system error from product/process variation with mass production , and assist packaging process and equipment engineering teams in root cause identification of dimensional issues..
What we expect
Experience in multi-equipment correlation (tool matching) studies or measurement uncertainty evaluation.
Familiarity with the application of SPC and OCAP process control tools to metrology data.
Experience in measuring semiconductor packaging precision components (bonding position, stud height and diameter, dimension of features on die, etc.).
Sensitivity to micron-level precision and professional-level commitment to the credibility of measurement data.
Able to conduct effective technical dialogue with R&D, packaging process, equipment engineering, material suppliers and customers on measurement disputes.
Ability to advance multiple tasks in parallel, reasonably allocating effort between daily measurement delivery, equipment/optimization projects and programs.
