Trainee – Image Quality Testing
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented student to join our R&D team as a Trainee in Image Quality Testing. In this role, you will support the evaluation and testing of image quality performance in advanced imaging systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern imaging technologies and quality assessment methods used in medical imaging, scientific research, and industrial applications.
The work will be closely integrated with ongoing development projects and can be tailored to support a future academic thesis if applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Image Quality Testing and Measurement:
Perform image quality measurements.
Support the setup and execution of image quality tests using phantoms and test objects.
Operate laboratory and imaging equipment, including imaging systems, calibration tools, and data acquisition software.
Assist in developing and maintaining standardized image quality test procedures.
2. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze image data to assess system performance under different conditions.
Develop and optimize analysis scripts and tools (e.g., using Python or similar environments) for image processing and visualization.
Document test setups, methodologies, and results in a clear and structured manner.
Prepare reports and summaries to support development and decision-making.
3. Collaboration and Learning:
Work closely with experienced engineers and scientists in image-quality and system-performance evaluation.
Participate in project meetings and technical discussions.
Build a solid understanding of image quality metrics, testing standards, and their practical applications.
What we expect
Educational Background:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Skills and Knowledge:
Basic understanding of optoelectronics.
Basic understanding of imaging systems and image quality concepts.
Experience or interest in image processing and data analysis.
Programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar) are an advantage.
Familiarity with laboratory measurements or experimental work is beneficial.
Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and measurement techniques.
Personal Attributes:
Interest in practical testing and hands-on experimental work.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Careful, systematic working style with attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Duration and Location:
The trainee position is expected to last 6–12 months, depending on scope and availability.
The position is based in Oulu, with access to modern laboratories and imaging facilities.
