Senior Test Engineer, System Test
Are you interested in working on challenging sensor and imaging device development projects in Oulu? As a Senior Test Engineer, System Test, you will play a key role in our industrial, medical, and security product development programs. In this role, you will take overall responsibility for system-level hardware and reliability verification, enabling rapid design iteration and ensuring robust, validated products ready for production and customer use.
You will work as part of cross-functional project teams, collaborating closely with R&D, system engineering, quality, and manufacturing to translate product requirements into effective verification and validation (V&V) strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Define, develop, and own system-level hardware and environmental reliability test strategies for sensor and imaging products
Plan and execute comprehensive verification and validation activities across product development phases
Perform and coordinate electrical, functional, and reliability testing, including environmental and stress testing
Identify design, process, and system-level vulnerabilities and drive corrective actions together with design teams
Create, maintain, and document test plans, test reports, and V&V summaries in accordance with project and quality requirements
Support rapid design iteration by providing clear, data-driven feedback to R&D teams
Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure consistent validation practices across projects and sites
Contribute to the continuous improvement of system test methodologies, tools, and best practices
What we expect
More than 5 years of experience in hardware and reliability test development, characterization, and system validation
B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
Strong experience in developing product-level test and validation strategies
Solid hands-on background in:
Electrical and functional hardware testing
Reliability testing, such as vibration and shock, fatigue, electrical stress, EMC, and thermal stress testing
Proven ability to plan, execute, and document V&V activities, including overall test reporting and result analysis
A structured, analytical mindset with a strong sense for finding weak points in designs and processes
Intermediate to advanced English language skills, both written and spoken
Expected Value of Short- and Long-Term Goals
1–6 months
Become familiar with DT products, technologies, processes, and key stakeholders
Take ownership of ongoing system test and validation activities in assigned projects
6–12 months
Lead system-level V&V planning and execution in assigned projects
Act as a key contributor to test strategy decisions and design trade-offs
12–24 months
Drive improvements in system test and reliability validation practices
Act as a senior expert influencing validation approaches across multiple projects
Location
This position is based in Oulu, Finland. You will work as part of the system test and product development teams and collaborate closely with our global R&D and manufacturing organizations.
