Manager, Group IT
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Manager, Group IT to ensure that our company’s IT environment is reliable, secure, and aligned with global business needs.
Your role
In this role, you are responsible for the overall Group IT infrastructure and core services, including identity management, networks, endpoints, and cloud platforms. You will lead a global team of IT specialists while also participating in daily IT operations and support. The role combines hands‑on problem solving with planning and executing continuous improvements in a global business environment.
Responsibilities
Overall management and development of the Group’s global IT infrastructure
Line management and coordination of a global IT specialist team
Providing and coordinating hands‑on IT support to ensure a good user experience
Coordinating external IT partners, service providers, contracts, and license usage
Planning and executing IT infrastructure development activities and projects
Maintaining clear IT documentation, guidelines, and operating models
What we expect
Several years of experience in managing IT infrastructure and operations in a global environment, including both hardware and software
Interest and willingness to participate in hands‑on development and support activities
Strong understanding of information security fundamentals (eg. integrity and availability, identity and access management, network security, incident response, backup and recovery)
Solid experience with Microsoft environments and platforms
Experience with both cloud platforms and on-prem environments
Ability to plan and execute IT projects end‑to‑end
Clear communication skills in both English and Finnish
Proactive, service‑oriented, and hands‑on working style
Expected value of short- and long-term goals
1-6 months
Get familiar with DT and especially the IT team, IT infrastructure and related service providers.
Take active ownership of the ongoing topics and start creating practices for coordinating the daily actions.
6-12 months
Align priorities of the ongoing improvement actions and propose on possible next phases.
Plan and execute agreed short-term development tasks.
12-24 months
Establish well-functioning global IT team and partner ecosystem, with optimized cost structure.
Lead the improvement of global IT infrastructure by smartly utilizing different platforms suitable for DT's business needs.
Location
This position is based in Oulu, Finland, with close collaboration with our global teams. You will be reporting to the Director, Group IT & Development, Tiina Välkky.
