Manufacturing engineer
Your role
Objective of this position is daily monitoring and maintain processes in volume production scope with assembly and alignment, Harness routing and connection as well FW downloading, unit test, packing…etc work.
Implement SOP in manufacturing site, establish standard labor time and create a lean production line then achieve target of automated assembly.
Generate weekly production fulfill and pass yield report and identify issue with owner to take proper actions to fix with deadline
Key objective is setup up/maintain process to ensure very high quality and low scrap rate in all phases of processes from sub assembly to final assembly, testing and packing.
Responsibilities
- Generate (or working with manufacturing technicians) operation procedure, work instruction, PFMEA, process control plans, and drive improvement
- Define assembly standard vs actual cycle time studies, optimize assembly process to maximize utilization.
- Identify bottleneck, system constraints and work with Process Engineers to eliminate the constraints.
- Production line setup, implement / improve process tooling.
- Drive standardization of core processes and enforcement of standard processes / best practices to increase productivity and achieve quality control.\
- Support of production yield, continuously improve product yield and reduce scrap cost
- Use statistical methods to understand variation in the production and control.
- Support of production quality control, continuously improve product quality
- Work closely with teams in failure analyses to identify rejects, and take corrective action to resolve rejects.
- Failure analysis for non-conforming products (customer returns). Also including FA done on external lab coordination
- Gives FA Technical support (lead in own part) for root cause analysis
- Technical support for CQE in customer communication
- Coordinate/facilitate process specific PFMEA and technology specific DFMEA updates
- Conduct engineering evaluation in support of cost reduction initiatives such as alternate parts / suppliers, engineering redesign and quality improvement projects.
- Conduct in-depth process capability studies for productivity and quality improvement using DOE.
- Provide guidance and training to team in order to enhance effectiveness of trouble shooting and knowledge sharing.
- Lead / Participate in continuous improvement projects
What we expect
- Minimum 5 years manufacturing engineering relevant experience in assembly, test and system integration area, automatic line design and implement experience would be advantageous.
- Prefer industry area is CMOS panel/Camera or led panel/display.
- “Out-of-box” thinking mindset, proficient in lean manufacturing tools and apply DFM methodology to define assembly process and line layout.
- Able to use quality tools like DOE, Six Sigma, 5 WHYs, etc for problem solving and deep dive to root cause complex quality issues.
- Fluent communicating in English both written and verbal.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechatronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Location
This position is based in Wuxi, China, with close collaboration with our global teams. You will be reporting to the Process Development Director.
