Senior Design Engineer, Test Development
In this role, you will design and develop production test systems for advanced X-ray imaging detectors. You will create test algorithms, software, and automation tools that ensure product performance and image quality in manufacturing.
You will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to translate product requirements into reliable, automated test solutions and support deployment to production lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain production test software, automation tools, and image-quality analysis algorithms.

Analyze and enhance test methods, data accuracy, and overall test efficiency.

Collaborate closely with R&D and manufacturing teams across Finland, China, India, and France to ensure consistent product quality and smooth production integration.

Contribute to the development of test system architecture and the definition of DT’s future test technology roadmap
Qualifications:
- MSc/BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar.
- Strong programming skills (Python, C#, or similar).
- Experience with scientific Python libraries (i.e., NumPy, Pandas, OpenCV)
- Familiarity with version control (Git/GitLab), CI/CD systems, and/or test automation frameworks (such as Robot Framework) is a plus
- Strong background in test automation and data analysis for production environments.
- Hands-on experience in hardware-related software (signal acquisition, measurement systems, or similar)
- Experience with image or signal processing, test automation, and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of X-ray imaging, machine vision, or detector technologies is a plus.

Expected Value of Short- and Long-Term Goals
1–6 months
- Get familiar with DT (key persons, processes, products), markets, and applications.
- Take the existing “backlog” under your control and initiate ownership of ongoing cases.
6–12 months
- Plan the following phases and align the priorities of the ongoing cases.
- Develop and share competence on software and algorithms for DT’s Test Development domain.
12–24 months
- Participate in defining the test technology roadmap and contribute to the company's strategy.
- Initiate new cases and lead their execution towards technical success.
Location
This position is based in Oulu, Finland. You will work as part of the Test Development team and collaborate closely with our global teams. You will report to Director, R&D, Arsi Stång.
